The end of a school year always comes with a mix of emotions. As educators, some of us have faithfully entering grades throughout the semester and others are scrambling to catching up on grading. Fortunately, I think two emotions we all tend to experience is the proud feeling of watching our students graduate or land that job. Then, there the moment of relief knowing that the chaos is over.
As the conference inches closer, I want to be the first to congratulate the many award winners in the history division:
Linda Lumsden is this year’s Donald L. Shaw Senior Scholar Award winner.
Ken Ward is this year’s Book Award winner.
Daniel DeFraia is this year’s Covert Award winner.
The winners will be honored at our History Gala on August 7. Please remember to register for this event when you register for the conference. It is under the preconference screen and cost $10 to attend. Come celebrate with us and 50 years of the Journalism History journal. Thank you to each member of the division’s executive committees for helping to organize your awards competition.
Enjoy your summer break! See you soon!!
