The History Division is seeking panel proposals for the 2014 AEJMC national conference in Montreal. The division aims to offer a diverse program that represents the depth and breadth of our members’ research, teaching and professional interests.
Members are encouraged to submit proposals that take advantage of the conference’s location in Montreal. Panel proposals are due by September 30 and should include the following information:
- AEJMC group proposing the panel (History Division) and contact person for the panel with email (should be at the top of the proposal).
- Suggested co-sponsoring divisions. Indicate in the proposal if a co-sponsorship deal has already been made with another division or interest group.
- Title of panel
- Type of panel (Teaching, Research or Professional Freedom & Responsibility*)
- Summary of topic
- Names of speakers. Please try to get commitments from speakers before submitting the proposal, if possible. Indicate in the proposal whether the speakers are committed.
- Estimated cost, if any.
Send proposals and inquiries to History Division Chair/Program Chair Kathy Roberts Forde at fordekr@sc.edu.
*AEJMC has identified five areas of professional freedom and responsibility: free expression; ethic; media criticism and accountability; racial, gender and cultural inclusiveness; and public service. If you are proposing a PF&R panel, please consider how your topic contributes to one of these areas.
