The AEJMC Southeast Colloquium serves as one of the oldest regional gatherings of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication. The event provides a collegial and supportive environment for the exchange of research, feedback and ideas across AEJMC divisions, interest groups and commissions.
Full Paper Submission
Authors are encouraged to submit completed papers for review and presentation. Full paper submissions are welcome from faculty, graduate and undergraduate students. All full papers should be 25 pages in length (excluding references, tables, and figures). However, for Law and Policy division, the page limit is 50.
Formatting Guidelines:
Spacing and font: Double-spaced, Times New Roman, 12-point font.
Margins: 1 inch on all sides.
File format: Microsoft Word (.docx) or PDF.
Anonymization Requirements:
Papers must be anonymized for blind review.
Remove names, affiliations, acknowledgments, and identifying self-citations.
Check file properties/metadata to ensure anonymity.

Extended Abstract Submission
Faculty, graduate students and undergraduate researchers are invited to submit extended paper abstracts of 1,200-1,500 words (excluding references, tables and figures). Submissions should clearly describe the purpose of the study, relevant literature, theoretical framework, research questions or hypotheses, methods, and—where applicable—preliminary findings or expected contributions. The colloquium especially encourages participation from undergraduate researchers. AEJMC divisions and interest groups are invited to consider creating dedicated sessions or awards that highlight outstanding undergraduate research.
