First Amendment Timeline
This site, prepared by the First Amendment Center, lists significant historical events, court cases and ideas that have shaped current First Amendment law. The timeline begins in 1215 with the Magna Carta and continues through 2011.
Center for Civil War Photography
This site features an archive of Civil War photographs as well as information about photographers. The site includes links to online exhibits and includes instructions for requesting images from the National Archives and Library of Congress.
The Oyez Project
This project offers access to audio recordings of cases heard in the United States Supreme Court. The site includes transcripts of the hearing that scroll as the audio plays. Transcripts and .mp3 files of the audio can be downloaded. The project is supported by the Kent College of Law at the Illinois Institute of Technology Chicago.
The Digital Public Library of America
A collaborative effort of libraries, museums and archives from across the country. The DPLA offers a searchable catalog. Search results include a link to the item on the original content provider’s website. Items include text, photographs, video and audio files.
